What are free radicals?

Our bodies are made up of molecules containing atoms surrounded by electrons. Electrons naturally combine in pairs. When a molecule has an unpaired electron on the outer electron layer, we call them free radicals, which are highly reactive. Free radicals can be produced by exposure to UV rays, pollution, smoking, etc. They are also known as free radicals. Free radicals are considered unstable. To regain stability, a free radical tries to 'steal' another electron from another molecule, breaking the molecule's structure and causing various problems in the body. For example, free radicals damage cell membranes, attacking the collagen that binds cells together, resulting in wrinkled skin, stiff joints.

Naturally occurring antioxidants in our body then participate, as they have the ability to supply the missing electron to free radicals. However, if the number of free radicals becomes too high, our supply of antioxidants may be inadequate, which means they have to be supplied from outside. Excessive levels of free radicals in the body damage tissues and organs, like metal rust. Unfortunately, free radicals also start chain reactions, resulting in the formation of a number of new free radicals.

What is glutathione and how does it work?

When free radicals occur, our body naturally neutralises them when they start to pose a threat to our body. The body produces a wide variety of antioxidants, including a small molecule called glutathione, which is made up of three amino acids (glycine, cysteine and glutamic acid). This molecule is an important antioxidant for our body. It is found primarily in the liver, the organ responsible for eliminating toxic substances, but also in the kidneys, pancreas, brain, etc. It is also found in the liver, the organ responsible for eliminating toxic substances.

There are 2 forms of glutathione: oxidised glutathione (bad glutathione) and reduced glutathione (good glutathione). Reduced glutathione is a very active molecule that traps toxic substances, causes them to be converted and is eliminated naturally (via bile or urine). After this purification, reduced glutathione is converted into oxidised glutathione. It is therefore necessary to generate a new molecule of reduced glutathione. With age, the regeneration of the molecule becomes slower and oxidised glutathione is present in higher amounts than reduced glutathione.

Liposomal microencapsulation technology

Microencapsulation is the technique of protecting liquid or solid active substances by means of a spherically shaped lipid membrane. It prevents the active substances from being eliminated by gastric juices or digestive enzymes.

Biocyte liposomal glutathione contains a daily dose of 100 mg of reduced glutathione, plus liposomal vitamin C, which acts in synergy with glutathione to protect cells from oxidative stress.

Usage:

1 capsule daily with a glass of water.

It is not a substitute for a varied and balanced diet or a healthy lifestyle. It is not recommended for pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers or children under 12 years of age. Keep out of reach of children, below 25 degrees C and away from sunlight.
